PRESENTATIONS ON CHILDREN ACROSS THE WORLD

I wanted to say that I was very impressed by your work this lesson. When I arrived at the class, I felt very proud of you all with your netbooks having logged on waiting to work. Fantastic.

I am laso very pleased with the ideas that you are workingon as you explore the difficult lives some children have in different parts of the world. I want you to use your homework to do further research into fact / percentages and DETAIL of the daily lives some children have. Key rules to remember;

1. The powerpoint - only use key words / bullet points. Make sure youuse visual images and video / youtube clips to support your presentation.

2. Your research - the more you look into the details of childrens' lives the better informed your presentation will be. You must use class / homework time carefully and work with purpose so that you can help the group by adding your work to the presentation.

3. The leaflet / the booklet - use your facts and findings to create this. Do not make it too wordy as it will not be read - visuals and some words are best. How you design this is up to the group.

KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!!

  1. What i think about the 9pm watershed:
    i think its a good idea but not many people stick to it to be fair. I dont - i will admit that i have seen scary movies and inappropratie T.V Shows with swearing in fo radult hourmour.
    but i think the under 16 is a bit silly.I would change it to 13-14 atleast.

  2. I think that the 9pm watershed is not a very good idea because not many people will pay attention to it. Like Gemma I think the under 16 is a bit silly, I think it should be 14.

  3. i think that the 9pm watershed is not a good idea because if we are playing video games that are 18+ i think we should be able to watch adult prgrams. This is a very hard subject. I have seen inappropriate films that i may not of wanted to see, and every time i watch a programe inappropriate film i learn abit more about reality. This helps me in life.

  4. I think 9pm wtershed is a good idea for younger children, but its pointless as not many people follow it.I also think the under 16 is pointless and it should be moved to 13-14.

  5. I think that the 9pm watershed is good idea to keep children from seeing things that they shouldn't see other than that it is pointless and the age should be lowered from 16 to 13-14

  6. I think that the 9pm watershed is good for young children though they can still watch it if they want as their is no block.
    On the other hand you can chose what you watch and you are old enough to know what is acceptable for you to watch.

  9. Thank you for your comments and for your maturity in exploring and considering this topic - I hope you had enough time at the start of the lesson to rehearse.

  10. I have been very impressed by the way you have all approached the topic of censorship in film / TV / Magazines & newspapers. You have worked hard to consider the reasons for and against certification and have been thorough and considered in your presentations. I particularly liked the way you explored different films and the reasons you gave for either agreeing or disgreeing with particular certification for particular films.

    I really enjoy our lessons as you always rise to the challenges of all the work I set you. We are going to move onto producing a piece of written work on censorship and you will have lots of facts and ideas / opinions to use. The research you have done will REALLY help you. So, we will have focussed week or so on the written assessment and I suggest we leave time for a film / celebratory lesson for all your hard work.

    HOW DOES THAT SOUND??
